About the event

Roger McGough & Clare Potter - Poetry on the Border, Chepstow. On the Border was created to bring contemporary Welsh poets together with their peers from elsewhere. One of Britain's best-known poetry voices, Roger McGough is a fiendishly fine performer and regularly leaves audiences clutching their metaphors. His spin on innocence, truth and the oddball gives pleasure in spadefuls. Clare Potter was brought up in Blackwood, South Wales, and became a published poet after moving to the USA. Clare was awarded the Cardiff 2005 Future Focus bursary and spent it returning to New Orleans to write poems for Spilling Histories (Cinnamon, 2006), which is her first collection and inspired by the aftermath of the New Orleans disaster. Tickets £12/£10. Call Chepstow Bookshop on 01291 625 011 or visit www.poetryontheborder.org
