About the event

John Hegley at the Southbank Centre - Celebrating Christopher Logue. Christopher Logue was an award-winning poet, screenwriter, playwright, songwriter and maverick. He lived in Paris in the early 1950s and wrote pornography under the name of Count Palmiro Vicarion. He also wrote for the magazine Merlin. In 1961, while campaigning for nuclear disarmament, he was sentenced to a month in prison. His epic translation of Homer, War Music, was nominated for the Griffin Poetry Prize. At this event Brian Patten, Sam Berkson, Kate Tempest, Alan Howard, Christopher Reid, Kate Dimbleby, John Hegley and Michael Horovitz, among others, create an offbeat, affectionate celebration of Christopher's life. Tickets £10 (concessions £5). Call (0)20 7960 4200 or visit http://ticketing.southbankcentre.co.uk/find/literature-spoken-word/tickets/
