About the event
Jo Shapcott reading London. Poet in the City invites you to a special event celebrating the life and work of one of America’s greatest modern poets. Robert Frost was a pioneer of poetry that embraced the truth and cadence of language, moving away from formality of metre and into the resonating naturalism of speech that is his legacy. He was awarded four Pulitzer Prizes during his lifetime, and continues to be an enduring voice in the canon of modern literature. Featuring Professor Tim Kendall, Jo Shapcott and Matthew Hollis, the evening will also include the reading of a number of Robert Frost’s poems by American actors Taube Brahms and Danny Mahoney. Tickets cost £9.50 if booked online via www.kingsplace.co.uk Otherwise tickets cost £11.50, Box Office 020 7520 1490.
