The Poetry Archive was founded by Andrew Motion and Richard Carrington who, until recently, shared the role of Director. Andrew continues to be a source of expertise and support from his base in the USA, while Richard now manages the recordings programme.

On a day-to-day basis the Archive is run by a very small team:
