AldenSmith - On Good Terms
On Good Terms
On Good Terms we talk, so fruitful together,
Like a dandilion we grow, through the warm summer weather,
But like autumn, we stop, we fall from the trees,
Drifting apart, stuck, brought straight to my knees.
The waiting, the end. Expectation of decay,
With no sense of time, indifferent night, hopeful day.
Lying on moist soil, Stop. Mid afternoon dew,
Yesterday we parted, today we might too,
Tomorrow is spring, the warmth tells me when,
We can grow, we can bloom, I want you again.
I reflect on yesterday’s winter of death and disease,
This year can be different, a new start, talk please
I never meant to push you away,
months of endless torture, to contemplate what to say,
It draws closer, I command each ray of the sun,
Lets not fight, stay together, be mine, become one.
As you grow, your beauty becomes so silky to touch,
Yesterday I lost you, now I love you so much.
I’m sorry, stay here, like my heart the sun burns,
This summer, make sure, that we part on Good Terms.
